Model kits come in all shapes and sizes, and the process and ideas used when building them can also vary depending on the parts created. For this project, we applied these principles to architecture and studied how forms and shapes function as an ongoing assembly. The main programmatic element
of this project is the black box theater. The rest of the assembly and program nests itself around the theater that acts as a keystone, locking the entire model together. By utilizing 3D printing, we were able to continually test different connections and locking mechanisms for this model before creating a final version at 1/16th scale.
