Tremont, known as both a prominent artistic and cultural neighborhood in Cleveland, is a site that calls for a collaborative space accessible to people from all walks of like. The project aims to enhance cultural interactions within the context of the greater urban community while also defining a new social core within Tremont. The interest for this project lies in its potential to utilize stretched, atrium-like spaces and open circulation on the interior to create a social and cultural core embedded into a recreational program. Some key spaces include the cultural lounge and gallery, both of which lend adaptability in regards to programmatic demands. High ceilings and large openings in floor plates allow for interaction from all levels while also establishing a hierarchy of space. The layout seeks to generate a feeling of transparency throughout while maintaining moments for intimate reflection.
